He's a Maniac!
My husband proved he's a maniac yesterday. Some people have suggested that he might be insane. Others have written him off as odd or different. Most people don't understand why he runs for miles and miles every week and even likes it! Yesterday, it became official. He just became Marathon Maniac #1110. He did it by running 3 marathons in 56 days. Crazy, huh?
The second race of the three was the Timberline Marathon on September 13, 2008. This race began at Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood in Oregon and was run on trails down 3,000 feet in elevation. Roy took the camera and got some lovely pictures of the summit and other scenery.
For this race we camped Thursday and Friday nights next to Timothy Lake. We had a wonderful spot at the Pine Point campground. My parents came up and spent Friday night camping with us.
Here he is crossing the finish line:

The third of the three runs was the Portland Marathon yesterday. Roy did so well! He set a Personal Best time of 3 hours, 21 minutes and 7 seconds. He was the 418th finisher out of 7497 finishers. Pretty darn impressive! No photos yet of that one.
I am so proud of my husband for all that he has accomplished with his running in the last three years.
The first of the three was the Haulin' Aspen Trail Run in Bend, OR. This was his first trail marathon and the first of his marathons I wasn't able to attend. My kids and I were at camp in Molalla. This race took place on August 9, 2008. Here he is after that one wearing his medal:

By the way, the signature I made using information I got from Katie at her blog here. Thanks Katie!
